Two weeks had passed since his return from Canada, and today he was on a mission. Domestic work although mundane had to be carried out.

After two hours grafting he exposed a forgotten doorway with a ring pull handle. The wood had swollen over time and it wouldn’t budge. Undeterred he retrieved a crowbar and torch from the shed and with considerable effort eventually prised it open.
Panning the torch’s beam around the dank, airless room, the light fell on a coffin supported on stands.
He called the Authorities who removed the article, and after the County Pathologist gave his report Jake Tordale’s life would take various turns.
An attempt on his life, three murders, followed by dalliances with a number of beautiful ladies, that took him to three Countries.
